Support our fellow neighborhood association on Jan 9 at the City Council Chambers at 10 am. Lower Coast Algiers wishes to be zoned single family, rural.
The following is from Lee Dupont of the Lower Coast Algiers Association.
There are two important things that need to be done:
1) Show up Dec 30, 10 am at City Hall Council Chambers and support Councilmember King’s motion. This will be a very short meeting as we are #1 on the agenda. There are only 2 things on the agenda.
2) Have everyone in you household send in online comments supporting Item 1 on the agenda. You do not need to live in Lower Coast Algiers to send in comments. So you can also get interested friends and family to send in online comments. MORE COMMENTS OF SUPPORT IS BETTER.
Submit comments and see agenda: https://council.nola.gov/meetings/2024/20241230-regular-meeting/
BACKGROUNDThe Dec 30th meeting at 10 am is the Final FLUM (Master Plan) vote this finalizes the FLUM efforts begun in 2022, and guides all of the Zoning in Lower Coast Algiers to Single Family. This MUST be completed before the actual zoning can be voted on in January. You can read the history of the motion by going to the link above and reviewing the agenda with attachments, then reading the reports. The Zoning vote is January (Jan 9?) and February will also be critical and we will advise you on them later.
Thanks for all of your support along the way. We can’t slow down just yet. We are in the finish stretch now. |
